When do you begin accepting applications for September admission?

Enrollment is handled on a first come, first served basis beginning about February 1st. We will continue to test, interview and accept students until the classrooms are filled then a waiting list is formed. It is best to complete the application/enrollment process quickly to ensure a seat for your child.

What do I do if I can't find my copy of my child's immunization history?

Prior schools should have copies of immunization or call your child’s doctor for a new immunization card.

When are the admissions tests given? When will I know the test results?

For grades K & 1st we schedule individual tests during and after school – dates and times vary. For grades, 2nd-8th bring a copy of your student’s most recent report card and state testing. The test results are discussed at the parent interview with the Principal

What if you are a member of Bethany Church, do you get a discount?

Yes, active Bethany members receive a 5% discount.

What money is due immediately?

The registration & curriculum/class fee are due at the time of enrollment. The annual tuition covers from September through early June the days West Covina Christian School is in session. Annual tuition can be paid in full or in installments.

What time does school begin and end?

Kindergarten-8th Grade: 8:30am-3:00pm.

Do the middle school students change classrooms during the day?

Yes, the 6th-8th-grade students move from class to class during the day.

Do you have a special education program?

We do not have a special education program, however, we do have an individualized learning center (ILC) which serves fourth through eighth-grade students who need specialized academic help in an environment with a much smaller student to teacher ratio. The ILC program has a slightly higher tuition fee.

Do you offer music classes to all students?

Grades K-6 have weekly choral music classes. Grades 7-8 have Choir/Drama as an elective class if they choose. Our K – 8th students take part in 2 musicals each year, at Christmas and in the Spring.

How often are the children in P.E. class?

7th and 8th grades have P.E. each day. Grades 1-6 have P.E. 2 times a week.

Where and when do we get P.E. clothes? And how much do they cost?

P.E. uniforms are sold at Class Processing Day and in the school office. Students will then receive their PE clothes from their PE teacher. Costs may vary.

Do you offer day care?

Yes. Our day care program is available to all enrolled students. Day care opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Day care fees are listed on the Tuition Schedule.

Do you offer a hot lunch program?

Yes, students can either purchase a la carte lunches daily or pre-purchase lunches on a monthly basis. Students can also purchase food before school and at recesses.

What is your age limit for Kindergarten?

5 years of age by September 1st and testing indicates sufficient maturity.

If my child had a physical exam at 5 years old when his immunization booster shots were received does he need another exam now for 1st grade?

Probably not. Check the date of the exam and form. It needs to be on the “Report of Health Examination For School Entry” form. If it was given within 18 months prior to the September 1 admission to 1st grade it won’t have to be repeated. If the date is prior to the 18 month cut off, yes your child will need another physical exam.

What money is due immediately?

The application fee is due when the completed application is returned to the office. The registration fee is due at the time of the parent meeting if the child is accepted for admission. Tuition is paid in 11 installments beginning in July.

If I recruit a child to attend WCCS, do I get a discount?

Yes. An incentive of $350 is good towards tuition for one child from your family if you are the person who recruits a new child who is not from a current or previous school family.

How early in the morning may I bring my child to school and not be charged for day care?

Children on campus before 8:15 a.m. will be signed into daycare. Likewise, children on campus after 3:15 p.m. will also be signed into daycare for your child’s safety, we do not allow students to wait unsupervised in the parking lots either before or after school.

What is your schedule for kindergartners?

The schedule for kindergartners emphasizes academic skills and enrichment activities. The day includes a morning snack, lunch break, and afternoon recess. It is a full-day program from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Daycare is available before and after school daycare from 6:30 am-8:30 am and 3:00 pm-6:00 pm for an additional cost.

Do you offer any computer classes?

Yes, we have a computer lab which our K – 8th teachers utilize with their classes.

Do you offer Instrumental music lessons?

Yes, we offer Private Instrumental music lessons including piano and a variety of other instruments. Lessons are available before, during, or after the school day. Payments for private lessons are made to the individual teachers.

Do all the children change clothes for P.E. class?

Children in grades 5-8 change into PE clothes in our locker rooms.

Does WCCS have sports teams that compete with other Christian schools? Who is eligible to try out for these teams?

Yes. We compete in Varsity and Jr. Varsity Christian School Leagues. Students in grades 6-8 may try out for our sports teams.

Is day care available on school holidays and during the summer months?

Day Care is not available on most Holidays. However, we do have a Summer Enrichment Program. See the school office for details.

Are all the children out for lunch at the same time?

Our children have staggered lunch periods:

  • K – 2nd grades 11:30-12:10
  • 7th – 8th grades 12:00-12:40
  • 3rd – 4th grades 12:20-1:00
  • 5th – 6th grades 12:40-1:20
